Introduction to Stitch Ahead
The Stitch Ahead Programme is a SETA-accredited, four-month course designed for youth aged 18 to 35, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values needed for careers in the textile and fabric industries.
Students gain practical experience in industrial sewing techniques, garment construction, and quality control while learning to interpret basic patterns for standard products.
In the final incubation phase, they are encouraged to develop and design their own creations, fostering creativity and entrepreneurial thinking.
Entrance Requirements:
- Completion of a two-hour Literacy and Numeracy Test
- Participation in Life Skills training
- Selection through a final evaluation interview
Graduates leave with a strong foundation for employment or entrepreneurship in the textile sector.

Graduates proudly celebrate their achievements at a fashion show and graduation ceremony at the end of the course, where they showcase their designs to family and supporters.
Throughout the programme, students gain hands-on experience in product development, pricing strategies, marketing, and entrepreneurial thinking, equipping them with the skills to turn their creativity into sustainable careers.
